Pastor Dock LaMar, Jr. is the Founder and Executive Director of Pain To Peace Ministries, Inc., a faith-based nonprofit organization committed to restoring stability, dignity, and opportunity to individuals, families, and communities experiencing hardship.
A United States Air Force veteran, Pastor LaMar served as a Sergeant with the 8th Tactical Fighter Wing in Southeast Asia under the command of General Daniel "Chappie" James, Jr. He received the Air Force Commendation Medal and was honorably discharged in 1968. His military service laid the foundation for a leadership style rooted in discipline, accountability, and service.
In his professional career, Pastor LaMar became one of the first African American Mortgage Loan Originators in the state of Georgia, establishing a federally backed FHA and VA lending branch. In 1972, he founded his own mortgage brokerage firm in downtown Atlanta. With more than fifty years of experience, he has helped thousands of families achieve homeownership.
Throughout his life, Pastor LaMar has demonstrated a lifelong commitment to mentorship, community engagement, and youth coaching โ emphasizing discipline, teamwork, and character development. Pain To Peace Ministries integrates faith-centered service and practical support to help individuals and communities move from crisis toward long-term stability and self-sufficiency.
We envision a world where no family feels alone in their struggle โ where communities are equipped with the tools, support, and resources needed to live with dignity, stability, and peace. Through our Therapeutic Learning Center model, we aim to build an integrated ecosystem where education, therapy, and community care exist under one roof.
Empowering families with knowledge, life skills, and pathways to independence through structured enrichment and learning programs.
Connecting families with licensed therapy providers โ ABA, OT, PT, Speech, and Feeding โ through the Guiding Hands Enrichment Center model.
Building an integrated ecosystem where individuals find belonging, resources, and a community that walks beside them every step of the way.
No family walks this road alone. Pain to Peace Ministries serves five underserved populations across the state of Georgia.
Including autism, ADHD, and developmental disabilities โ ages 5 to 12.
Caregivers and parents seeking reliable, compassionate support and guidance.
Low-income individuals navigating limited access to resources and services.
Older adults in need of community connection, support services, and dignity.
Service members transitioning back to civilian life with the support they've earned.
Seniors and veterans are among the most underserved and overlooked populations in our communities. Pain to Peace Ministries sees them, honors them, and is committed to walking with them.
Dignity, connection, and consistent care
Many seniors face daily challenges that go unnoticed and unaddressed:
Honoring service with real support
After serving our country, many veterans return home to face a different kind of battle:
"Pain to Peace Ministries is committed to restoring dignity, connection, and support โ providing resources, community programs, and access to care for every senior and veteran we serve."
Pain To Peace Ministries, Inc.Pain to Peace Ministries proudly supports the Guiding Hands Enrichment Center โ an independent, dedicated program committed to serving children with autism and developmental needs across Georgia.
Guiding Hands Enrichment Center is the direct provider of enrichment and therapeutic services for children โ not Pain to Peace Ministries. Guiding Hands operates as its own distinct program. Pain to Peace Ministries supports and uplifts this vital work as part of our broader community mission.
If you are a family seeking enrichment, sensory support, or daily living skill development for your child, Guiding Hands is where that journey begins.
Guiding Hands provides a safe, nurturing environment where children ages 5โ12 with autism and developmental needs can grow in confidence, develop essential life skills, and experience meaningful community.
The center's hub-and-spoke model brings licensed independent therapy providers โ ABA, OT, PT, Speech/Language, and Feeding โ directly on-site, so families access comprehensive care in one welcoming place.
Guiding Hands is not just a program. It is a home for children who deserve to be seen, celebrated, and supported exactly as they are.
